Green The World: Use Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless water heaters have been popular in Europe and Asia
for years. However, they are not very well accepted in North
America until recent years.
Tankless heaters are about the size of a medicine cabinet.
Electrical tankless heaters are normally installed indoor –
mounted on the wall in bathroom for example; while gas powered
tankless heaters are normally fixed outside of the house.
In general, here’s how tankless heater works:
When you turn on a hot water tap, cold water supply is directed
to flow thru the heating unit. The pressure of the cold water
running through the pipes turns on the heater (electrical or gas
powered) and the water is warmed. When you turn off the tap, the
heater shuts down until the next time you turn on a hot water
tap.
Benefits of tankless water heater\
- Low operation cost is the biggest advantage for tankless
water heater.
- Heaters with water tank normally consume lots of extra
energy to keep the stored water warm, which in turn, cost
higher for the operation. On the other hand, tankless heater
works in better efficient as water is heated on demand. The
tankless heating system works better for our environment and
users get to save more.
- You’ll need to mount a huge water tanker on your roof for
the conventional heater. The installation process is complex
and it takes long setup time. A tankless water heater on the
other hand is small, handy, and takes up less space in your
home. Also the installation process is much easier and faster.
Application of tankless water heater
Tankless water heaters work more than just in your bathrooms. In
fact, a gas powered tankless heater should be able to heat up
the water supply for the whole house. Some other applications
include:
* Remote BBQ or outdoor sink
* Pool house or pool shower
* Remote bathrooms or hot tubs
* To serve as a booster, eliminating long pipe runs, for solar
water heating systems, dishwashers and sanitation.
